The BEA 2016 Highlight Reel

I collected some of the social media highlights of my Book Expo 2016 experience on Storify and thought I’d share them here as well. If you’re not seeing the embedded story in your feed reader, please click on through to the blog!

But first, shout-outs to some of the people who made BEA 2016 Chicago such a great time:

My roommate and blogging BFF Kim (Sophisticated Dorkiness) and our hotel neighbors Candace (Beth Fish Reads) and Sheila (Book Journey): It was the BEST to share breakfasts, dinners, walkabouts, and book talk with three of my closest, oldest (in blog years, that is) friends!

Michelle (That’s What She Read): I was SO excited to meet my fellow Armchair BEA co-founder and book-blogging accountant face-to-face for the first time.

It’s always a highlight re-connect with BEA regulars like Michelle’s roommate Jenn (Jenn’s Bookshelves), Gayle (Everyday I Write the Book), and Kerry (Entomology of a Bookworm).

And thanks to BEA’s change of venue this year, I met Melissa (Scuffed Slippers and Wormy Books) and the “Commuter Crew” – Katie (Words for Worms), Julie (JulzReads), Marisa (The Daily Dosage) and Stacey (Unruly Reader), attending for the first (or second) time ever.

I know I must be forgetting some people, so here’s a big virtual wave to everyone!

  1. Florinda — so great to meet you in person! And I love all the BEA / Chicago photos you’ve included in your posts

  2. So funny about the luggage! I got bright pink luggage to stand out and, the last time I flew, several other people had it as well. I love all the photos!!

    1. The luggage business was funny a couple of days later, but not so much when I had to figure out how to get back to O’Hare :-)! We definitely need to do something about ours before the trip to Italy next year. though.

  3. Looks like you had a great time. We had family plans in May so I missed this one, but maybe in 2017! We have a bright red one and a green one. We try to put tags on them that we recognize…we’ll be needing new ones soon though.

I want to know about that Analog book! That looks so good. Also, that last picture with the books in the trunk! Priceless!

  4. Oh, no! I saw your message about your suitcase, but didn’t know you jinxed yourself. lol At least you can look back and laugh, right? lol

  5. I feel so fancy to have made the highlight reel! Wahoo! When I was 12 or so, I very nearly walked out of an airport in Mexico with a suitcase that did NOT belong to my family. On accident. Since then I’ve been a little obsessive about using and checking luggage tags.

  6. LOVE this — and soooooooooooo glad the great suitcase caper was accomplished with very little pain (all things considered)
