One might think that getting people to do what they need to do to make sure they get paid for their work on an accurate and timely basis would be fairly easy. One would, in some cases, be wrong. Two years after switching to web-based time sheets that our employees can access anytime and anywhere they can get online, we still have staff who can’t manage to get their forty hours a week accurately entered, approved, and submitted by a standing biweekly deadline. When we made this change, I declared that I was done sending out reminder emails before every payroll…but sometimes words were made to be eaten, and I chomped on some of my own today. In doing so, I hope I sent out a memo that answers more questions than it raises!
