OK, I give – it’s giveaway time!

As Dewey reminded us in one of her last posts, this is “the giving season,” so here goes!

Have I got a giveaway for you! Actually, I have FOUR of them, and you may enter any or all. Aren’t you glad you stopped by today?

Before I tell you about what’s on the table, though, let me outline how this is going to work. It’s pretty simple, really:

  • To enter, leave a comment on this post. Please include your e-mail address AND which giveaway(s) you are entering. Any entries without BOTH of those pieces of information will NOT be counted!
  • For TWO extra entries in your giveaway(s), post about the giveaway on your blog and link back to this post.
  • Entries are open until next Friday, December 12.
  • Giveaways #1, #2, and #3 are for US residents only. Giveaway #4 is open internationally (since it doesn’t involve shipping costs).
  • Disclaimer: Since I’m not sure exactly how soon I’ll be able to ship out the items for Giveaways #1, #2, and #3, please DON’T count on them for Christmas gifts, although I will get them out as soon as possible!

The items in Giveaways #1, #2, and #3 were all included in the swag bag I received at the Los Angeles Moms Blog Launch Party, while Giveaway #4 was inspired by a recent Tuesday Thingers question.

Giveaway #1: New Parents Pack (estimated value $25)

Since my baby days are long past (and my grandma days are not in the foreseeable future), I truly have no use for these items, but if you’re a new parent – or you know someone who is – maybe you will! This package consists of:

Giveaway #2: PC Tune-up from Norton/Symantec ($70 value). I really can’t use this for my MacBook, so I’d like to offer it to someone whose computer might benefit from it.

Giveaway #3: We Cheer game (rated E 10+) for the Nintendo Wii ($40 value). We have a Wii, but my 14-year-old stepdaughter, as a Goth-in-training, is quite frankly not into things like cheerleading – and as for my 9-year-old stepson, forget about it! It does sound like it could be a fun workout, though. If some kids you know would enjoy this game, maybe you can win it for them (or for yourself!).

Giveaway #4: LibraryThing Lifetime Membership ($25 value) – a gift to the winner from ME! There’s no limit to the number of books you can catalog on LT with a lifetime membership. You also have the opportunity to find about about new and new-to-you books, get advance copies of soon-to-be-published books through the LT Early Reviewers Program, participate in forums, and connect with other readers. (And you can join in on Tuesday Thingers, too!)

Well, now that you know what your option are, are you interested? Join the giveaway fun (but please follow the rules listed at the beginning of this post)!

  1. I’d like to enter for Giveaway #4! I have a free account now, so I have to limit how I use Library Thing.

I’ll post your contest in my sidebar!

  2. I would love to be entered for giveaway #4- I’ve been on LT a while but with limited membership.
I will be back with the link when I get this up on my blog. Thanks so much.

  3. OK, so I’m entering giveaway #4 for my mom, a retired librarian and avid quilt book collector who is looking for an easy-to-use, handy way to keep track of the books she owns and the books she’s read. My email address is:

    2kopeople AT gmail DOT com.

    Thanks.

  4. Carozonga – PLEASE come back and leave me your e-mail (blog link optional) so I can enter you!

Serena and Icedream – Let me know when your links are up so I can give you your extra entries :-).

I’m starting my spreadsheet of entrants now. I won’t be replying to every comment here, just FYI.

  5. I’ll enter for #3, would love to see the reaction on my husband’s face when my boys start to cheer 🙂 I’ll get a post up soon and send you the link.

  6. Great giveaway! I’d love to be entered in giveaway #4 the LibraryThing membership!

I posted your giveaway in my blog sidebar under the “Check Out These Contests in the Blogosphere!” headline.

  7. Let’s try that again (need more caffeine) I’m entering for Giveaway #3 because I have a budding cheerleader here that would love that game.

  8. I would love to win the Wii Cheer game. I was decidedly not the cheerleading type in high school, but I’ll have mastered most of the dance moves on Boogie SuperStar and I might be ready to tackle cheers.

  9. I would like to enter giveaways #2 (my roommate and I love playing Wii!) and #4. Thanks! 🙂

  10. I don’t really need any of these, but I wanted to say that I think it’s neat you are doing this. I don’t really know who Dewey was, but I know she was important to book bloggers. Not to mention her family.

  11. Jessi – I’m going to assume you mean #3 and #4, and enter you for both of those :-).

Mike – Are you sure you can’t use that PC tuneup?

I was planning the giveaway this week anyway, but it seems especially fitting now, considering that Dewey was planning giveaways for every day this month. It’s been inspiring to see book bloggers connecting with each other to keep her projects going – and her husband is on board with it. You’re right, of course, about the loss to her family.

  12. Well since I’m Canadian, please enter me for #4. callista83 AT cogeco DOT ca
(it’s amazing how many don’t read the rules eh?)

  13. I’m interested in #4 — I haven’t signed up yet, because it seems the free, limited version wouldn’t be worth it. This would be cool!

  14. I haven’t joined LibraryThing but if I were to win a lifetime membership, there would be no reason not to! 😛

  15. Giveaway #3 please, I made the finals for Cheerleading, but alas didn’t make it on the squad. It is time to rectify that situation! 😉

Email should be in TypePad signature, but if it isn’t, my blog is http://www.kariannaspectrum.com and the email is at the top (not typing it out here for SPAM concerns!)
