I first found this “Sweet 100” list on Liz Rizzo‘s blog, Everyday Goddess, but I stole this version from Madame Meow at A Daily Dose of Zen Sarcasm!, since she included handy links to descriptions of many of the goodies. (It’s originally from CakeSpy.) It’s the perfect dessert – completely calorie-free!
Here goes:
1) Copy this list into your site, including the instructions
2) Bold all of the sweets you’ve eaten
3)Cross out any of them that you’d never ever eat
4) Consider anything that is not bold or crossed out your “To Do” List.

- Red Velvet Cake (a Southern classic)
Princess Torte(it’s made with marzipan, and I’m not a fan)
- Whoopie Pie (I may have had this, but I think it was called something else. Apparently it’s not the Northeastern version of the Southern classic Moon Pie, though – different filling.)
- Apple Pie
either topped or baked with sharp cheddar(I’ll stick with a la mode, thank you)
- Beignet
- Baklava
- Black and white cookie (if it’s called a “cookie” but it’s more like a cake, that works for me!)
- Seven Layer Bar (I’ve made these before, but it’s been awhile)
- Fried Fruit pie (do the Hostess ones count? if so, then “yes”)
- Kringle
- Just-fried (still hot) doughnut (the only way Krispy Kremes are worth eating, if you ask me)
- Scone with clotted cream (well, I’ve had the scone, but not with cream)
- Betty, Grunt, Slump, Buckle or Pandowdy (no, but I’ve had cobbler and crisp, which are cousins, apparently…)
- Halvah
Macaroons(not so much for coconut)- Banana pudding with nilla wafers
Bubble tea (with tapioca “pearls”)
- Dixie Cup
- Rice Krispie treats (but not a big fan – I’m not so much for marshmallows, either)
- Alfajores
- Blondies (which reminds me – where are their superior brunette cousins, the brownies, on this list?)
- Croquembouche
- Girl Scout cookies
- Moon cake (also not the same thing as a Moon Pie)
Candy Apple
- Baked Alaska
Brooklyn Egg Cream- Nanaimo bar (but it sounds like something I would definitely be open to sampling)
Baba au rhumKing Cake- Sachertorte (I’d try it, although the apricot filling is a bit of a deterrent)
- Pavlova
- Tres Leches Cake
- Trifle (which reminds me, I haven’t made my chocolate version for awhile. Sounds like a to-do…)
Shoofly Pie
- Key Lime Pie (made with real key lime) (Not a big fan, although I’ve had it a few times. You know they’re not supposed to be bright green, right? Those are FAKE.)
- Panna Cotta
- New York Cheesecake
- Napoleon / mille-feuille
- Russian Tea Cake / Mexican Wedding Cake (false advertising – it’s actually a cookie)
- Anzac biscuits
- Pizzelle
- Kolache
- Buckeyes (maybe, but they may not have been called that – if not, I’d try ’em, at least)
- Malasadas
- Moon Pie (another Southern classic, but it’s the marshmallow thing – not really a fan)
- Dutch baby
- Boston Cream Pie
- Homemade chocolate chip cookies (sometimes I make them just to eat the dough…)
- Pralines*
Gooey butter cake- Rusks/Zweibacks
Daifuku
Green tea cake or cookies
Cupcakes from a cupcake shop(On principle. Cupcakes are just too small.)
- Crème brûlée
Some sort of deep fried fair food(twinkie, candy bar, cupcake)
- Yellow cake with chocolate frosting
Jelly Roll(I have no objection to donuts, but I don’t like them with filling)- Pop Tarts
- Charlotte Russe
- An “upside down” dessert (Pineapple upside down cake or Tarte Tatin)
Hummingbird Cake
Jell-O from a mold
- Black forest cake
Mock Apple Pie (Ritz Cracker Pie)
Kulfi(pistachio ice cream? no.)
Linzer torte(again with the fruit fillings that I don’t like)
- Churro (deep fried cinnamon!)
Stollen(fruitcake – does ANYONE actually eat it?)
- Angel Food Cake (but I prefer Devil’s Food!)
Mincemeat pie- Concha
- Opera Cake (I may have had something similar, but I’m not sure…)
- Sfogliatelle / Lobster tail
- Pain au chocolat
- A piece of Gingerbread House
- Cassata
- Cannoli
- Rainbow cookies
- Religieuse (an eclair. Sometimes they are a religious experience…)
- Petits fours
- Chocolate Souffle
- Bienenstich (Bee Sting Cake)
- Rugelach
- Hamenstashen
Homemade marshmallows(for reasons previously stated)- Rigo Janci/Hungarian Chocolate Cake
- Pie or cake made with candy bar flavors (Snickers pie, Reeses pie, etc)*
- Divinity
Coke or Cola cake- Gateau Basque
- S’mores (but guess why I’m not a fan?)
Figgy Pudding(I’ve always called it “piggy fudding” when singing “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”)- Bananas foster or other flaming dessert
Joe Froggers- Sables
Millionaire’s Shortbread
- Animal crackers
Basbousa
* I have NOT eaten these, but I couldn’t change the formatting!

Serena – New York cheesecake (well, most kinds of cheesecake, to be honest) is up toward the top of my list too. Mmm, now I’m hungry :-).
Wow! That is a big list! I haven’t heard of a few of those, I need to do some research. 🙂
My grandmother used to make pizzelles by the truckload. I didn’t like then that much, which worked out well for my sister. 🙂
Mike – I didn’t know what some of them were either, which is why the links were very helpful. Researching this could be a lot of fun.
OH my god, they spelled crème brûlée right! Do you know how rare that is? In my entire life, I have only ever seen one American restaurant spell that dessert correctly.
Dewey – OK, you just made me laugh with that comment :-). I don’t think I knew it was rare to spell it correctly – I just knew it tasted good! This did originally come from a food blog, so I would hope they could spell it right.
What? You don’t want to try green tea cake? 😉
There’s green tea flavoured everything here, or almost. I actually quite like it but I know it can be an acquired taste.
I haven’t had a Nanaimo bar in ages. So rich and sweet! I may have to have one next time I’m in Canada though.
One of my favourite desserts is rhubarb pie. Or Chocolate Fondant. Mmmm.
Tanabata – Sometimes I’ll get my lemonade iced tea with green tea, and I like that. I just didn’t think the cake sounded terribly appealing.
I’ll second that “mmm” on the chocolate fondant :-).
Golly! I haven’t heard of quite a few of those!
Wendy (Literary Feline) – Neither had I, and some I wasn’t sure about till I went to the links. I just didn’t think there was quite enough chocolate on the list :-).
