Since I didn’t post a “Saturday Review” last weekend, I’ve got a lot of links stored up, so I thought I’d get a headstart and share some of reading-related ones today – that will give you less to get through this weekend :-). My real reason for this decision isn’t that selfless, however: I just haven’t had time to get ahead on my writing, so if I didn’t do this, I’d have no post for today – and that just won’t do!

The 4 Rs stand for Recommend, Read, Review, and Repeat. We see this four-part challenge happening over a three month cycle. The only obligations are to sign up, provide a little information about yourself, be open to other’s suggestions, offer book recommendations to at least 5 participants, read one recommended book, review it (on a blog, in LibraryThing, etc.), and join us again for the fall installment. What could be easier than that?
Get the details and sign up on the challenge blog. I don’t usually join reading challenges, but since I’ve only got 3 R’s, I feel like I need to get in on this one.

A bride-to-be wonders: how do married people get any reading done?; speaking of marriage, did you hear that Archie finally proposed? (Thanks to Chris at Book-a-rama for the link!)
The birth of a reader is always cause for celebration! Also, learning from Amelia Bedelia
Can’t get enough of those review books? Here are 5 ways to get them heading in your direction, with links to specific sources.
Here’s one book blogger’s (Nat at Book, Line, and Sinker) summer reading list, created with input from lots of other book bloggers – if you’re looking for summer reading ideas yourself, start right there!
Did you know that there have been some years when a Pulitzer Prize for fiction was not given? Thanks to 1morechapter, you can pick the books you’d have awarded it to in 1971, 1974 and 1977.
I really haven’t read much YA fiction since I was a YA – lo these many years ago – but as many book bloggers know, there’s no shame in it – at all!
*** I’m not ignoring the Book Bloggers panel at BEA, but there are so many discussions about it that I’ve decided to base a post on the reactions – look for it in a few days. I think I MAY actually be getting some time to do some proper writing soon!
Thanks for the mention! I don't normally do challenges either, but we're hoping this one will be fun and easy… and we didn't mean to one-up you on the Rs! 😀
Fyrefly – Thanks for reminding me that I haven't signed up yet :-), and you're welcome for the mention!
I'm a member of Book Blogs, must join the California Book Lovers group. Am flirting with the 4Rs challenge, too…
Tracy (Gentle Reader) – Yes, you do need to join California Book Lovers :-). I haven't committed to the 4R's Challenge yet, but I did go and spend some time on the site today.
