Monday Moments: From ridiculous to sublime on Saturday

Saturday was a busy day for Tall Paul and me. We started early with a drive to Orange County to spend some time at the Wizard World Comic Con in Anaheim. I didn’t find it quite as much fun as last year’s; it wasn’t my first time, the programming was a bit different…and now I have San Diego Comic-Con to compare it with. It wasn’t the best trade for the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, in my opinion, but I had another reason for missing that this year anyway – a family wedding east of Los Angeles on Saturday evening.

The Con wasn’t a total loss; we just didn’t find much to keep us there for more than a couple of hours, sadly.

If I didn’t know better, I’d have sworn that this R2 unit was trying to flirt with me!
We left before his show with his band, The Rebel Alliance, but we did get  to meet Jedi Elvis.

With some time to kill between events, we went to Disneyland – well, Downtown Disney – for lunch; it’s just a short walk from the Anaheim Convention Center. Then it was back on the road and off to see Tall Paul’s cousin get married! She’s a Vasquez now too, but her new husband is no relation to Paul’s branch – except, now, through marriage.

It’s not a proper Mexican wedding without Mariachis!

A beautiful wedding day in the Inland Empire
And how was your weekend?
