What was the #1 song on the day you were born?
If you were born anywhere between February and early May 1964, you were born during a period when Beatles songs held the #1 spot on the US record charts for 14 weeks straight. (During a couple of those weeks, they monopolized the top spots down to #4 or #5).
The Beatles were also at #1 in their own country with that same song on the day I was born. The had the #1 record in Australia that day too, with the double-A-side single “I Saw Her Standing There/Love Me Do.” Yes, they were on the verge of world domination, why do you ask?
If you don’t mind showing your age, go and see what song was #1 on the day you were born, then come back here and tell me!
Bonus Question of the Week: What fictional character – from any medium: books, movies, TV, comics – would you most like to meet? (This is the topic of the new Weekend Assignment, and I’m looking for a little inspiration, to be honest – I’m having a hard time making up my mind!)

Baseball season is about to start again! (I probably won’t see any games except for Little League ones this year, since the Dodgers raised ticket prices, and I doubt I’ll watch much of it on TV either, but I’ll still claim it as my favorite sport)

Me: “Thanks for coming in today, sir. What can I do for you?”
Customer: “I can’t get this thing to work! I set up the password and now I can’t remember it.”
Me: “Alright, that’s an easy fix. Let’s go to the site to reset your password.”
(I guide the customer to the correct site and we get to the option to answer a secret question of the user’s choice. The question: ‘Am I a s***head?’)
Customer: “Hmm…” *types ‘No’*
Computer: “I’m sorry, the answer you have selected is incorrect. Please try again.”
Blogthings Quiz of the Week:
You Are Astronomy |
This world is not enough for you… literally. You can’t help but wonder about what else is out there. You’re the type of person who believes that anything is possible, and you’d like to prove it. You are also quite philosophical. You spend a lot of time wondering about our place in the world, how the universe was started, and what the future holds. |
Friday Fill-ins #170
1. All you need is whatever it takes. (Is that vague enough for you?)
2. Listening to the zingers fly when my family gets together fills me with laughter.
3. Each generation, as it grows up, fails to appreciate something about the generation before.
4. Feeling overwhelmed in crowded, strange places is something I have a hard time dealing with.
5. A trip to the grocery store is what I need. (Well, not really. Yes, kind of. The refrigerator needs me to go, anyway.)
6. Give someone a smile, and you get back.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to getting home and packing my bags, tomorrow my plans include a trip to Grandma’s house for Easter weekend and Sunday, I want to help make breakfast in her awesome kitchen!
