Readathon Update #2

I’ve finished a book! Folks who recommend going with relatively short, quick reads are right – they do give you a sense of accomplishment.

More importantly, I loved the first book I read: The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks. I’m looking forward to writing up this one – it’s very clever. I’d really like Katie (my 16-year-old) to read it.

I took a break after I finished reading my first book, and when I came back, I did the first half of my three-hour cheerleading commitment. I’ll probably exceed that amount of time to get to all the blogs on my list, but that’s fine; I’ll hit the rest later this afternoon or early in the evening.

I still haven’t done any mini-challenges. However, I have been eating:

  • Breakfast: VitaTops corn muffin, vanilla yogurt mixed w/strawberries and topped with high-protein cereal, and coffee
  • Snack: Chex Mix and a Honeycrisp apple
  • The family is bringing back lunch from the California Bowl – I’m getting the Chicken Teriyaki Gyoza Bowl and some miso soup
  • I’m not particularly craving sweets, which I guess is a good thing. I will be making more coffee later on.

Next book: Carney’s House Party/Winona’s Pony Cart, by Maud Hart Lovelace (it’s a twofer!)
