Ten on Tuesday 12-11: 10 Things You Want for Christmas

My husband actually requests a wish list from everyone in the family at Christmastime. He’s the administrator, passing out items from the list to extended-family members who need gift ideas, and keeping others for us. (Of course, he also makes his own wish list, which he gives to me to manage.)

In any case, I’d already done some of my homework for this week’s assignment.

  • “iPod my car!” This would involve a new iPod-compatible stereo plus installation, and I already know I’m probably not getting it for budgetary reasons, but I did ask for it anyway.
  • MacBook – If I’m not getting the car stereo for budget reasons, I’m definitely not getting a laptop, but this is supposed to be what I want for Christmas, right?
  • Clothes from the Talbots catalog/website (the store would be OK too) – two jackets, a skirt, and a sweater
  • Clothes from the Lands’ End catalog/website – two coats, a skirt, and a sweater (is there a trend going on here?)
  • Chanel No. 5 Eau de Parfum Spray
  • TV shows on DVDScrubs (seasons 5 and 6), The Office (season 3), WKRP in Cincinnati (season 1), Lost (season 3)
  • A “reader’s wrap” from the Coldwater Creek catalog/website
  • Gift cards from Borders and/or Barnes & Noble, since actually buying books for me is dangerous
  • iTunes gift cards
  • Nearly anything from The Body Shop – a gift card from there would be fine too!

Wondering what the other players want this Christmas, or just looking for ideas for your own list? Go here.

  1. You are so organized! And since you’ve been very very good, I’m sure you’ll get at least some of these lovely little things. . . .

  2. We’ll know what comes to pass in two weeks, won’t we? 😉

WG – My husband taught me how to organize my list, which I e-mail to him, and which includes item details, prices, and links to find nearly everything online. That’s how he does his list, and it helps if I do mine the same way.

  3. I made a list this year even though I hate doing it. Hubby’s parents make him give them one each year and I usually take off what I’m going to give him before sending it along to them. It works out well.

  4. Literary Feline – I do the same thing with my husband’s list before I send it to his mother, after learning the hard way – gift duplication! – during our first Christmas together, and it works well for us too.
