Open Eyes: What I’m Seeing

For a mostly-wordless Wednesday, I thought I’d share a look at what I’m seeing around my neighborhood lately. I took these snapshots during my walks with Winchester this past weekend. It’s been sunny and not too hot recently–perfect Southern California spring weather! I’ve done minor edits on these photos, but primarily for cropping and emphasis–no artificial colors or filters were used in the creation of this blog post.

what I'm seeing down the street

what I'm seeing on the trail what I'm seeing by the fence

what I'm seeing by the wall

what I'm seeing on our walk

what I'm seeing up the hill

This weekend, I composed a series of short updates that I’ve scheduled to post over the course of the week. I don’t have time for too much more than that right now, but I’m not happy being a missing person in Bloggerland, so this is my current coping strategy.

Cambria is the real-life inspiration for Christopher Moore’s fictional Pine Cove, and was in the midst of its annual Scarecrow Festival while we were there. I thought I’d show you some of the participants we encountered along Main Street. Apparently, crows are scared of skeletons. Who knew?  With California’s severe drought in mind, the […]

I have to skip the Fall edition of Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon this Saturday, so I thought I’d collage some Mini-Challenge photos from last Spring. One of my favorite things about the cities of the Northeast is the way old and new buildings live side by side, like here in downtown Boston.
